EIAT reading practice questions

Reading is the largest of the exam's three sections, 35 of 100 questions by NEIEP's own applicant guide, and the one candidates most often underrate before they sit it. It isn't a literature test. The passages read like the paperwork of the trade itself: a machine-room bulletin, a safety notice, a maintenance memo, a paragraph with a word or phrase pulled out and a blank left in its place.

Five question types recur: the main idea of a passage, a supporting detail stated directly in it, an inference the passage supports without spelling out, a word's meaning as the passage uses it rather than its dictionary sense, and cloze paragraphs that ask which choice best completes a numbered blank. The five questions below cover that spread, each with the passage it belongs to and the reasoning behind every option once you answer.

Pick an answer and the explanation appears right away, correct or not. That's the app's own practice mode, immediate feedback rather than a score you wait to see, and it's the same five questions whether you're reading this on a laptop or a phone in a break room.
