EIAT mechanical practice questions, diagrams included

Mechanical aptitude is the section candidates worry about most, because it is the one that is hardest to picture from a paragraph of text alone. NEIEP's own applicant guide puts 35 of the exam's 100 questions here: gear trains and belt drives, lever and pulley rigs, hydraulic pistons, ramps and balance frames. Every one of those questions leans on a picture, not a sentence, and a picture is the one thing most prep sites make you pay to see.

Every prep site we checked treats a mechanical diagram as premium content: a locked thumbnail, a "subscribe to view" banner, or a page that describes the mechanism in prose and asks you to imagine it. The five questions below aren't like that. Hoistway draws its mechanical figures in code rather than shipping images of them, and those same drawing routines now run in this page, in your browser, for free. Pick an answer and the gear train, pulley tackle or hydraulic pair redraws at your screen width, in whichever theme you're reading in.

Answer one and the explanation appears immediately, correct or not, the way the app's own practice mode works rather than the way the real exam or our 20-question diagnostic hold the key back until the end.
