Is there a time limit on the EIAT?
NEIEP has never published one. Its own EIAT Study Guide gives you the structure of the test, 100 questions split 35 reading, 35 mechanical and 30 math, on paper, and stops there. Search the document for "minute," "hour," "time" or "limit" and you get zero matches.
The same silence runs through every other page NEIEP controls. Its apprenticeship FAQ and its recruitment page both name the 70 percent passing score and the test structure, and neither one says how long you get to sit for it.
Prep vendors fill the gap with numbers that don't agree with each other. JobTestPrep and ElevatorAptitudeTest.com both give 90 minutes total, split 25 reading, 25 mechanical, 40 math. Practice4Me calls it "the time limit of 1.5 hours," the same 90-minute figure phrased differently. WikiJob, independent of that camp, also gives 25 minutes per section, but for a 75-minute total rather than 90, since it doesn't stretch the math section. iPREP quotes something shorter still, 45 to 60 minutes, and undercuts its own number in the same breath: "Local recruitment/testing notices set the exact time limit and instructions." Even the vendor selling you a timing figure admits there isn't an official one behind it.
A fourth figure, 15 to 20 minutes for the entire test, shows up on AssessmentCentreHQ and PracticeTestGeeks. That's almost certainly a mix-up with something else NEIEP does publish: the interview, which NEIEP's own recruitment page says runs "15 to 20 minutes." Neither site quoting that number as the EIAT's duration cites a source for it.
The honest answer: there's no published limit to look up. Your local's testing notice carries the real number for your sitting, and that's the only place it's guaranteed to be correct.
