Can you use a calculator on the EIAT?

Every prep vendor we checked, nine of them, says no. None says otherwise. But NEIEP itself has never published a calculator rule either way, so treat "no calculator" as a strong vendor consensus, not a confirmed NEIEP policy.

The nine: JobTestPrep, 12minprep, iPREP, ElevatorAptitudeTest.com, PrimedPrep, AssessmentCentreHQ, JobAssessmentHelp, MechanicalAptitudeTest.org and PrepClubs. Every one of them tells candidates to leave the calculator at home for the math section. That's nine commercial sites converging on the same answer with zero dissent.

What's missing is NEIEP saying it themselves. The official EIAT Study Guide, the apprenticeship FAQ, the recruitment page, NEIEP's own blog and the neieprecruitment.org portal all describe the test, the passing score and the fee, and none of them mentions a calculator, permitted or banned.

So the practical answer: practice the math by hand, since nine out of nine sources that address the question agree you won't get to use one. But there's no written rule in an official NEIEP or IUEC document to point to if you're ever asked to prove it. If it matters to you, ask the local running your test.
